Ukraine is reinforcing its position as an attractive destination for international content producers. To name a few positive changes in local industry: new legislation on film and TV industry incentives is coming into force; new institutions for industry financing have been established; bilateral treatie with Canada have been signed, bilateral treatie with China is on it's way.

Ukrainian TV series are being sold worldwide. CHERNOBYL series, HBO USA - Sky UK, MR. JONES (Berlinale 2019 main competition) directed by Agnieszka Holland (Poland, Ukraine, 2018) starring James Norton, Vanessa Kirby and Peter Sarsgaard, THE LAST STEP by Frederic Petitjean (France, Ukraine, 2019) starring Jean Reno and Sarah Lind, cinematography by Thierry Arbogast and other titles are/were produced on the territory of Ukraine or coproduced with Ukrainian partners.

2018 marked an important milestone for Ukrainian cinema in terms of national releases, number of tickets sold and the total box office of Ukrainian films (at least three local films grossed $1 mn BO last year). In 2019 first Ukrainian film was theatrically released in China: the full-length animation THE STOLEN PRINCESS by FILM.UA Group.

These are just a few steps, but it is a good start.
